Questions & Replies

  1. Could I avoid the hour long bake time in the morning by finishing baking it the night before and reheating in oven next morning?

  1. We made it this morning- Only allowed the 1hr soak time. The family really enjoyed. Can use almost anything in it you would for an omelet...great recipe. Thanks GaylaJ

  2. Great recipe, Tish. I followed recipe for the most part adding chopped scallion; omitting the lemon pepper & replacing it with italian seasoning. I'm always looking to try something new for breakfast that doesn't require a lot of work when I'm half asleep, I will definitely make this again. So many applications of this recipe it's ridiculous... use whatever you have on hand and it'll be tasty.

  3. This is a fantabulous recipe. We are living the life right now in Prague and within 5 minutes (and $7!!!), I had gathered all the ingredients from the market and bakery downstairs. I used fresh baked bread and I think when using bakery bread (or any bread maybe) that just the bottom layer of bread is enough. My DH usually has a critique or two for my dishes, but this was a hands down "this is GOOD."

  4. This weas great. I had never had a breakfast casserole before and I really liked this. Thank you.

  5. I like that this dish can be prepared and somebody else can put in the oven. I was craving a western/denver sandwich for my supper at work but had to be away from the house all afternoon so I set this up and my daugher popped in the oven and it was ready for me when I got home and had to set out for work. Next time I will add some green pepper for the denver taste I was looking for.

I live in Las Vegas. I was lucky enough to run into Recipezaar around Nov. 2000 and got hooked quickly. I am a cookbook collector and have been collecting recipes for as long as I can remember. My DH had to build in shelves for all my cookbooks! I like to dabble with OAMC and for a few years hosted the Budget/OAMC forum with some great people over there. Even though I don't work in the forum any longer I've set up a lot of cookbooks for the purpose of OAMC and stretching food that might be helpful. Please feel free to check them out! I go on food jags and cooking jags! Please come say hi to me and chat on facebook. I currently host a blog for saving money through finding deals and coupons if you are interested. Most of the time I try to cook and have a good dinner on the table but I'll be honest enough to say there is still fast food occasionally in the budget! I have had such wonderful support here whenever I need it. Thank you all for being here! Just a quick note on how I rate recipes: ? 5 stars - This recipe is perfect. (My DH is truly a critic and doesn't give 5's unless it's amazing) I would recommend it to others and would definitely make again. ? 4 stars - This recipe was good but I would change something in it next time. ? 3 stars - This is a recipe I would not make again but it was OK ? 2 stars - This recipe I would not make again and we didn't like it at all ? 1 star - This recipes did not work out/taste was unappealing and wouldn't make again
