  1. This is the best ham salad I've ever had. I left out the pimentos, and used bread & butter pickles, as that was what I had on hand, but this will be a permanent addition to our menu. The dry mustard makes all the difference.

  2. Good stuff, Inez! DH and I put it in sandwiches and also find it great for putting on top of crackers. I had to use spicey gherkins since I didn't have sweet, but DH and I loved it anyway. A terrific recipe for using up all that leftover Christmas ham.

  3. I'd never made ham salad before. I think this is a very good basic recipe for ham salad. You can certainly add whatever else you like in it...olives, celery for crunch. I needed more mayo for my liking, as well as more gherkins. I really like this recipe. The flavor was great. I used a food processor as well. It went together very easily.

  4. One word from my husband, "Excellent!" Left the pimentos out because I didn't have any. Thank you for sharing the recipe.

  5. This was a great recipe. It turned out great even though I didn't have any gherkins or pimientos. I will add those the next time. I did however add onion powder and I ate mine on a sandwich with a little dash of hotsauce and cranberry sauce spread on my bread. MOUTHWATERING!! 8^ )

  1. Thank you for this easy and great recipe. I took Mike's advice and chopped it in the food processor, I had never thought of that before--great idea! I used relish instead of gherkins and pimentos. I like it a bit sweeter so I used mayo and Miracle Whip. Now I have something to do with leftover ham! Thanks again!

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
