  1. This turned out terribly for me. The milk curdled and balled up into chunks I had to fish out before I added the oatmeal. The flavour was medicore, I made a half recipe with a full apple and still hardly had an apple cinnamon taste. I wonder what the sugar is in the directions, step one is add milk, water and sugar but there is no sugar listed in the recipe so I just skipped it.

  2. Do you know Saigon cinnamon has coumarin in it? The only one that doesn't is Ceylon cinnamon.

  3. My son loves apple cinnamon oatmeal and this was the perfect recipe to cook before church. The only thing I did differently is add a little more brown sugar.

  4. My boys (4&5) absolutely love apples and wanted to change up our morning breakfast a bit, and this was a total hit! Even the hubby and our 11 month old daughter really enjoyed it!in and greatly approved!

  5. Such a perfect way to start the day. It's been so cold out and this really hit the spot. I like that it was cooked with milk and water and not just water. I halved the recipe for two, but used a whole apple, 1/4 cup of raisins and toasted walnuts and topped with a little maple syrup. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Tweaks

  1. I add 2 apples, 1 tablespoon cinnamon, and 2 teaspoons vanilla

  2. Very good!!. Used apple juice instead of water. Added a bit of nutmeg and ginger. Cooked on micro.

  3. Yummy!!! I used soymilk in place of the regualr milk and I found that the milk, water, apple mixture needed to be stirred constantly. I added honey and turbanado sugar to make it even more delicious. Mmmmmm.... :D
