I'm a true devotee of applesauce & usually have either a bottle on-hand OR some homemade chunky stuff in the frig, so snagging this recipe was right up my alley! As with Lauralie, I really enjoy Fuji apples (& the dried one are sooo tasty!) so used them for this sauce, & will definitely be making this one again, & soon! Thanks for a great recipe! This applesauce is wonderful! I used fuji apples and I dont think I would make this with any other apple. There were about 13 apples left in the bag so I doubled the amount of water and apple juice. Was generous with the cinnamon because I love it and added 2 tablespoons of sugar. Simmered with the lid on the pot for about 20 minutes and than took the lid off and simmered another 30 minutes. While cooking the last few minutes I smashed the apples with a large spoon but left some chunkier pieces of apple. Wish I could give this recipe more than 5 stars. This will be a family favorite!
