Homemade Pancake Syrup

"Have you ever made the pancakes then reach for the syrup and it's empty? Well mix these 5 little ingredients together and save the morning. It's easy, it's good, and they may start asking for it instead of store bought. Use it warm or let it cool.<>< Error was fixed, cook 50 seconds, not 50 minutes."

Reviews

  1. Also the reciepe can also be .5 tablespoon molasses 1cp sugar .5cp sugar mixed with .5 tblspoon of molasses is the equivalent of .5 cup brown sugar

  2. I cut back on the water and it was perfect! No high fructose corn syrup and it’s cheap

  3. I added 1 tablespoon of molasses to this recipe. I heated the mixture in a pan on almost medium until it had a moderate bubble, stirring slowly until I was getting close to my desired thickness. The mixture will thicken some as it cools. Excellent recipe. Might be even better with maple flavoring extract.

  4. I just made this syrup and it is amazing! I suffer from a corn allergy and finding a good syrup that is inexpensive is a challenge. The only thing I am wondering is should any left overs be refrigerated ?

  5. **Update: I decreased the water to 1/3 cup and it was perfect consistency for my tastes.** Delicious! It was a bit runny, but the taste was wonderful, so I will be making again and will decrease the water next time. I made to go over recipe #443545. Thanks tcourto for a great recipe.

Tweaks

  1. I did make it on the stove, and brought it to a boil, stirring the whole time. I think a tad bit less water would give the final product a better consistency.

  2. Added a pat of salted butter and cooked it for 2 min to boil out some of the water and make it thicker.

  3. Reduced water to 1/3 & added butter & added 1/4 tsp molasses. Used stove instead of microwave.

  4. I swapped the vanilla out for coconut!

  5. Added butter
