Honey Barbecue Chicken Wings

"This is my own recipe. I love the way they get so gooey and sticky...goes really well with some homemade mac and cheese, some bbq baked beans, and a biscuit.....mmmmm....yum!"

  • Wash, dry, and season the wings with the salt, garlic, pepper, cayenne, sugar, and paprika. Preheat the oven to 375.
  • Spray a cookie sheet with a generous spray of cooking spray.
  • Place the wings in a single layer on the cookie sheet, and place in the oven.
  • Cook for 35-40 minutes, depending on the size of the wings, turning once.
  • While they are baking, make the sauce by slowly simmering the sauce ingredients over the lowest heat.
  • When the wings are done baking, carefully dip them in the sauce, and place them back in the oven for another 5 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling.
  • ENJOY!And remember to save some for everyone else!

  4. Delish.... I purchased some already cooked honey bbq wings and my daughter loved them.. One day my daughter said she wanted them again but I didnt want to purchase them, I wanted to make them myself. So that's when I came upon this recipe. SHE LOVED IT... Making again tonight.. 9 yr old approved..

Tweaks

  1. I didn't have any honey so I substituted grape jelly. They were absolutely delicious. My husband loved them! Will definitely make again soon.
     
  2. I used golden syrup instead of honey, didn't use paprika and I used raw garlic instead of powder, it still came out amazing.
     
  3. No hot sauce. Used Smoked Paprika. Added liquid smoke a little to the BBQ Sauce just a little.
     
  4. I added passion fruit purée, a little OJ and mango habanero hot sauce! So good with a Caribbean taste
