directions

  • Cover potatoes with water in a medium saucepan. Bring to boil; simmer until tender, 25 to 30 minutes. Drain, cool slightly, and cut into slices. Place slices into a large heatproof bowl.
  • Fry the bacon in a medium saucepan over medium heat until almost crisp. Add the onion and cook until translucent, 5 to 10 minutes. Mix in the flour, sugar, mustard, salt and pepper. Stir in the vinegar, broth, and celery seeds. Cook, stirring often, until thickened.
  • Meanwhile, heat the knockwurst according to package directions; cut each into 6 to 8 diagonal slices. Add the knockwurst to the potatoes. Pour the sauce over and toss to coat. Sprinkle with the parsley and serve warm.

  1. This was delicious! All the flavors played very well together. I cooked the potatoes almost all the way prior to slicing them. Just before serving, I added the potatoes and knockwurst to the pan and let the ingredients simmer (covered) for 10 minutes. My guy and I both enjoyed this dish and agreed it's a keeper! We'll be making it again. Thank you for the recipe!

  2. Absolutely delicious! I loved it. I sliced and then cooked the potatoes, also used smoked kielbasa . it was awesome. the Smoked flavor went really great with the other spices.

  3. This is the second time I have made this recipe and plan on making it again . My family loves it! I made a change tonight by frying the potatoes instead of boiling them. It is delicious either way. I do make almost double the sauce amount called for in the recipe. But I also increase the number of potatoes by 2 or 3 for our larger family. The flavor is robust and savory.

I have two boys who will usually eat most things I put in front of them. As a single mom I use them as my guinea pigs....sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have a huge garden, blueberry and blackberry bushes. I am always looking for a new recipe. I have three cats (Xiao Mao, which means little cat in Chinese, Pumpkin and Max) and two border collies, Lucy and Grace. All my animals come from Rescue Agencies. <a href="http://s89.photobucket.com/albums/k217/winecoff8902/?action=view¤t=rsc002.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k217/winecoff8902/rsc002.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k217/winecoff8902/lucyatpoppys005.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"><a href="http://s89.photobucket.com/albums/k217/winecoff8902/?action=view¤t=006.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k217/winecoff8902/006.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s89.photobucket.com/albums/k217/winecoff8902/?action=view¤t=hilfiger001.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k217/winecoff8902/hilfiger001.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket">
