  1. I have been making this for years, but the last half hour I add cut carrots & potatoes, And sometimes I add dumplings,1 egg 1 tbsp. water and flour to make a light dough, drop by tsp.into Goulash the last 10 minutes.

  2. Good recipe, but needs more paprika. 1/4 cup is perfect.

  3. this is a perfect authentic goulash, thank you.

  4. Hey MizzNezz, What a delight to see an authentic Goulash recipe, after all the macaroni/burger things I've seen online. This is the way my Austro-Hungarian mother made it, perhaps with a few caraway seeds thrown in. Thank you!

  5. Also terrific over rice. And yes to other reviewer its great with venison but I add some carrot.

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
