WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could give this recipe 10 stars. It is absolutely magnificent on pork ribs. DH started a slab of pork ribs in the oven on 250 degrees for about 3 hours then transferred it to the gas grill and starting basting with the glaze for about 1 1/2 hours. It is truly finger lickin' good. Thanks for a wonderful recipe Carmen!!! Edited to add: DH cooked the glaze according to directions and didn't change a thing except we didn't have Jack Daniel's Whiskey so we used what we had on hand - Jim Beam Whiskey. He used a Tbsp of Tabasco and didn't find the sauce had a bad odor. We didn't find the sauce to be too sweet either -it was perfect.

This glaze is good!! A nice sweet glaze. When I saw that there was 2 cups of brown sugar in the ingredients, I thought it might be too much since pineapple juice is sweet to begin with, so I cut it down to 1 cup(the brown sugar). It was the perfect amount. I did not add any more. I think 2 cups of brown sugar would have made it too sweet and overpowered the other flavors. I also only used about 1/2 teaspoon of the Tabasco sauce since I can't eat real spicy foods. I think it gave it the right bite without being too hot for my taste. I did not notice a bad odor while the glaze was cooking. I thought it smelled good. I made the glaze a few hours before using it to give the flavors a better chance to blend together. They blended really well. I used this on chicken thighs. I brushed the glaze on the thighs about an hour before grilling them and let them sit. Kinda like marinating them. I grilled the chicken thighs on my tabletop/countertop electric grill. They smelled really good while they were grilling. I brushed the glaze on the thighs every time I turned them over. I grilled them for about an hour since my grill does not get really hot. They just kind of slow cooked. I made this at my neighbors apartment and while the thighs were grilling, they kept saying how good it smelled. I will be making this again using the same amounts of ingredients I used today. Thanks for a good recipe Carmen.

I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and was born in Esterhazy Saskatchewan. I am in the Food & Beverage industry and have been for over 22 years. I love to cook, but I would not call myself a "Chef". While I'm not good at creating recipes, I can take a recipe and tweak it or improve on it. I would have to say that I'm a self taught cook as my Mother never had time to really teach me. I would just watch her and figured it out on my own. I have collected 1000's of recipes (lots from here on Zaar) from cookbooks, clippings, pamphlets, you name it.
I like to read (favorite author is Jackie Collins), watch movies, trying to figure out how computers work and like to surf the net. Although I can stay in the background for months and not say anything, I'm always here on Zaar.
