June's Danish Kringle

ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 3 egg yolks
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 4 cups flour
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon salt
- melted butter
- 1 beaten egg white
- brown sugar
- nuts, chopped
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 1 lb powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- heavy cream
directions
- Scald the milk then let cool to luke warm. Add the yeast, then add egg yolks that have been beaten with the sugar.
- Mix together the flour, shortening, and salt. Add to the above mixture. Cover and place in the refridgerator over night. In the morning divide the dough into 4 parts and roll out into an oblong (no size was stated).
- Brush with melted butter, beaten egg white, brown sugar and chopped nuts. Fold into 3rds. Let rise for 2 hours on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes., Frost with the powder sugar icing.
- To make the icing mix together the melted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and enough heavy cream to reach your desired consistency.
