Kate's Afternoon Wine Cooler (Zwt - France)

"Finally Captain Kate! Here I am w/your belated birthday present. This is a little something light I've found refreshing in the afternoon when I'm busy doing my ZWT cooking! It's tasty, goes down really fast & smooth & doesn't cloud your mind when you're measuring ingredients either!"

  1. Great, tasty wine cooler!! I am not a big wine drinker, but love to use them in cooking recipes and my sister likes to drink Chardonay and I had some left from her last visit, so I chose to make this drink. It is still quite warm here in Florida, so this was a nice afternoon cooler!! Thanks for sharing the recipe and congrats again on your win in the football pool!!

  2. Wow! What an awesome drink for hot Summer days when you want something great to sip on, but don't want to get wasted. Made it last night & used chardonnay as thats what I usually drink. Made one serving and now I have a pitcher out to triple the recipe. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe with us.

  3. This should be renamed, I am enjoying this on a late evening in fall-still great! Didn't have cranberry juice, but did have cranberry flavored Crystal Light, made with sprite and a good organic reisling. If you made it with diet soda, this could be very low cal. Very quick to make and so tasty. Even my beer drinking wine hating hubby said it was pretty good! Will make again!

  4. This is a great light and sweet drink! I used diet Sprite, light cranberry juice, and a sweet Riesling. Loved it - thanks for sharing the recipe!

  5. This tastes identical to a wine cooler....it was "Oh So Yummy" after a long day at work! I used a Riesling as well. Thanks for posting!

I am an American transplanted from Dallas to Iceland by marriage to a native Icelander & I retired to become his "Kitchen Queen". We love to entertain our family & friends, so I have an eclectic collection of recipes. I especially love simple, easy-fix, flexible & make-ahead recipes - BUT also like challenging myself on occasion. I enjoy baking & food photography. I am devoted to the "More is Always Better Principle" & apply it liberally to bacon, butter & garlic. I can have ingredient issues due to availability here in Iceland & my DH is medically diet-restricted from some ingredients as well. Either situation might require me to modify a recipe, but I will do my best to be true to your recipes & fair/honest in my reviews. Mary Pat (aka twissis)
