  1. This was really fun. Made it for an adult Halloween party and everyone ate it up saying it reminded them of childhood. Thinking I should have tried the broiler to get some burnt cheese look... Maybe next time.

  5. We made this tonight for our Halloween supper. I doubled the recipe except for the ground beef (I actually used ground turkey) and it worked fine. EVERYONE raved!!! Hubby wants it more often! It fit the menu perfectly, it's very tasty and easy to make AND it's filling!

Tweaks

  1. Added 1/2 stalk chopped celery, 1/2 cup chopped sweet onion, and 1/2 cup diced zucchini, freshly ground dried oregano, and used unsalted, organic tomato sauce and a splash of worcestershire sauce instead of pizza sauce. Also, freshly ground pepper. Excellent !

  2. To create the mini mac-o'-lanterns pictured above, stuff 4 carved orange bell peppers with the mac and cheese mixture.

  3. This was surprisingly good considering how easy it was to make! I made as directed, substituting ground turkey for the beef. I also took a cue from Wildflour's picture and added the broccoli stem. It turned out so cute and the kids asked for seconds. Thanks!

  4. Thanks! This came out very cute, and tasty. Just what I was looking to serve on Halloween night! I used Rainbow Rotini instead, but added cheese. I also added half an onion, and chopped garlic instead of garlic powder - sweat together over low heat. Oh, and we had no pizza sauce, so I used Prego instead. Thanks for sharing this adorable recipe!
