- 1 1⁄2 lbs ground beef
- 2 lbs Italian sausage
- 1 sweet onion
- 1⁄2 green pepper
- 1⁄2 stalk celery
- 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans basil, garlic, and oregano flavored diced tomatoes (Drained)
- 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans sweet onion flavored diced tomatoes (Drained)
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can stewed tomatoes (Smash the tomatoes)
- 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans kidney beans (Drained)
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 chili powder, kit (I use Carol Shelby's)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (Add more for additional heat)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt

Optional Ingredients
- 3 medium jalapenos (Cut into slices)
- 1 (10 ounce) can rotel original diced tomatoes and green chilies (Replace 1 can diced tomatoes)
- 1⁄2 cup Fritos corn chips (For Serving)
- 1 tablespoon sour cream (For Serving)
- 2 tablespoons shredded cheese (For Serving)
directions
- Brown beef and sausage over medium-high heat.
- Add finely diced onion, green pepper, and celery. Cook for 4-5 minutes in skillet until tender.
- Drain excess liquid and place into large stock pot or slow cooker.
- Add all other ingredients and stir well.
- Simmer over low-medium heat for at least one hour.
- Serve in bowl over fritos and top with cheese and sour cream.
