  1. I loved that the Marinade kept the fruit from browning :-) The apples/pears were not as big a hit & the canned mandarin oranges were very ... delicate to work with :D So the 2nd time I did this, I used clementine oranges that I peeled and strawberries with banana slices. Lastly, I stuck the skewers point side into a whole pineapple for display :-) Lovely .... Thanks for posting your recipe!

  2. I used fresh pineapple and no oranges. I cut up the fruit and marinated it overnight in a bowl then put it on skewers. Big hit at our Penn State tailgate party! Thanks!

  3. This was a great recipe. I did not have luck with the mandarian oranges and forgot to buy orange so I used apricot juice.

  4. I made this for a family Christmas party and it was a big hit, and so pretty, thank for a great recipe. I served with recipe #55894 Fruit ball, it was very good, but this fruit is fine without a dip!

  5. I was a little leery of allowing the fruit to marinate all night. I was fearful that I would need an early morning run to the grocery to replace browned apple and pears. However, this recipe was a success for me. :) I prepared the marinade and dropped my chunks of apple and pear into it as I sliced and let them get a good coating before spearing them with chunks of fresh pineapple and red and green grapes. I tried to use Dole mandarin oranges, but they were too small and fragile for my kabobs. I decided it was better to just leave them off. These were an excellent fresh addition to my finger food buffet at a breakfast party.
