MockDonald Breakfast Sandwich

"I made this because I love McDonald's Egg McMuffins. It takes as long to make as a bowl of cereal. This makes one but you can make as many as you like at one time. We even have it for dinner after a long day."

  1. So good! I make 5 at a time and freeze them for a quick breakfast during the week. Just a minute or 2 wrapped in a paper towel in the microwave and you have a hot, fairly healthy breakfast.

  2. I love these sandwiches from McDonalds and I love making them at home. I used the Thomas' Light Multi-Grain English muffins, Kraft 2% reduced-fat cheddar cheese and 2 slices of Canadian bacon. I made my egg over-hard. This is so easy and tasty. Made for the September Photo Challenge - Breakfast Anytime.

  3. My son, uses a canning lid( ring) as a mold. Works GREAT!

  4. This was a wonderful breakfast sandwich. I used Franz 100% Whole Wheat English Muffins, which I buttered after toasting. Also scrambled the eggs. DH had sliced American cheese on his and I had sliced Cheddar on mine. This will be a weekly recipe for us!

Tweaks

  1. McDonald's uses a ring mold for the egg. You can get one from eBay or likely Amazon. Grease mold and pan, heat and put 1 egg in it. Add water to the pan outside the mold and put a lid on it so it can steam. Should take around 2-3 minutes.

  2. Add maple syrup to the English muffin and you’ll have a McGriddle

  3. white American gets rid of the fake yellow dye. Now you see what is real yoke.
