  • 20 cups water
  • 5 bunches of fresh mint, long stems trimmed, but leaves left attached to the stem
  • 20 -35 raw sugar cubes, to your taste
  • 7 -8 green tea bags

  • Place the water and mint in the slow cooker; pushing the mint down into the water.
  • Add the sugar cubes.
  • Cover and bring to a boil on HIGH, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
  • Turn the heat to LOW and simmer for 3-4 hours.
  • Add the tea bags to the mint infusion, cover, and continue to cook on LOW for another 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on when you want to serve the tea and how strong you want it.
  • Discard the tea bags and the mint.
  • Taste for sugar, adding more if you like a sweeter tea.
  • Serve hot.
