Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 12 cups flour
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 12 cup butter (not too soft)
  • 12 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 12 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 34 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
  • 1 -2 cup apple juice (optional)
  • 1 -2 tablespoon brown sugar (or more to taste)
  • 1 dash salt (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Sift together dry ingredients.
  3. Cut in the butter until fine. (You may use a food processor with blade to cut in the butter.).
  4. Put 1-2 cups water or apple cider (depending on the juiciness of the fruit) in the bottom of a 9" x 13" baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  6. Add sliced, peeled apples (about 5-6 apples, enough to cover the bottom of the baking dish.).
  7. Top with dry mixture.
  8. Bake 45 min., or until browned.
