DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Sift together dry ingredients.
  • Cut in the butter until fine. (You may use a food processor with blade to cut in the butter.).
  • Put 1-2 cups water or apple cider (depending on the juiciness of the fruit) in the bottom of a 9" x 13" baking dish.
  • Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Add sliced, peeled apples (about 5-6 apples, enough to cover the bottom of the baking dish.).
  • Top with dry mixture.
  • Bake 45 min., or until browned.
