My Favorite Sloppy Joes!

"This was my favorite Sloppy Joes recipe growing up and its still my favorite :) Don't be thrown by the Chicken Gumbo Soup (cause it WORKS!) I'm not sure where the recipe originated - maybe the Campbell Soup Company? Prep time and servings are estimated"

  1. This is an excellent recipe although I don't think it's called sloppy joes, I know them as Gumbo Buns and I've eaten them at New Year Eve parties. I find they are quite addictive. Glad you have them posted.

  2. I have been making these for years and they are wonderful. The only thing I do different is I only add one can of chicken gumbo soup and I use a couple squirts of yellow mustard instead of the dry mustard. Thanks for posting this...everyone should try them they are great!

  3. So yummy. Our porter made these at a Christmas party, and I loved them so much I made them at home the next night! A very nice change from a super tomato or barbeque based joe.

  4. These are the ones I grew up on. Can't find gumbo soup in NJ so I have to bring a bunch up from VA when I go visit. These are GREAT sloppy joes!! Make them!

  5. Maybe it is a Michigan thing,I made these also but there was chili sauce, brown sugar and green pepper in mine.We also called them sloppy joe's.
