  • In medium mixing bowl cream shortening, butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar.
  • Add egg and vanilla extract.
  • Beat until light and fluffy.
  • Add flour, soda, salt and oats.
  • Mix well.
  • Stir in raisins, dates, and chopped nuts.
  • Drop by heaping teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake in preheated 325F degrees CONVECTION OVEN for 12-15 minutes or bake in preheated 350F degrees RADIANT BAKE OVEN for 12-15 minutes , or until light golden brown.
  • Repeat with remaining dough.
  • Cool on wire racks.
