I couldn't find my mom's/grandma's recipe for gingersnaps when I wanted to make cookies to mail in a care package to my boyfriend, so I used this recipe instead. I substituted margarine for shortening because I didn't have any of the latter, and baked for twelve minutes. These are perfect! Although the dough didn't quite taste right, these cookies taste exactly like the ones I wanted. I might have to make more because I don't know if I want to send these away!

I'm 14 and for Culture Day at my school I made these cookies as part of my german heritage, everyone in the class was begging for more...this lasted for weeks! YOu can't even imagine how much they loved them...someone even told me they'd give me 20 dollars for the recipe and he came in the next day with the money...but don't worry I didn't ;) Thanx so much<3Sammi
