5-Ingredient Chicken Parmesan

"My family loves this meal. It only has 5 ingredients so prep is super easy. I keep a few disposable 8x8 aluminum pans in my pantry and use them for the wet, dry coating process. When I'm done I toss 'em, Reducing clean up to one baking dish. Also please look for RAGU OLD WORLD STYLE PASTA SAUCE (It wasn't listed among the ingredients to choose from) But I've tried several and OLD WORLD STYLE is my personal favorite for this recipe."

directions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F Dip chicken in egg, then bread crumbs. Coating well.
  • Arrange chicken in 13x9 glass baking dish that's been coated with a baking spray. Bake uncovered 20 minutes.
  • Pour Ragu Pasta Sauce over chicken, then top with cheese. Bake an additional 10 minutes. The baking time is based on my own oven and since cooking time may vary from oven to oven be sure chicken is cooked until no longer pink. Be careful not to overcook as this will cause your chicken to be tough.

  1. Wow this is good. I made this as directed, except I used garden vegetable chunky pasta sauce - my favorite. I also used less mozzarella cheese and sauce than called for. I topped each breast with sauce and some cheese. This is super easy to prepare and the end result is worthy of company. Thank you.

  2. Excellent dish. DH loved it. I didn't have quite enough mozzarella cheese for the top, so I used 1/2 Cup parmesan cheese. It was excellent.

Hi, I never realized how much I would connect with my last name, that is until I started baking! Actually my last name hasn't been Baker for years but that doesn't stop my husband from reminding me (especially around the holidays) I'm a born baker. :) He and I are empty nesters now that our three daughters are grown but I still struggle cooking for only the two of us. It wasn't much of a problem while the girls lived near by bcuz hey were always happy to take the leftovers off our hands. But they all live too far from home now to make regular visits. So I need to get serious about cutting back on the amount of food I prepare. It's not fun having to watch the meals I've put so much time and effort (not to metion the $$) go down the garbage disposal a week later! I know, I know you're wondering, "Why doesn't she freeze"? Cook once eat twice, right? Well, that's something I'm gonna work on too. I need to make sure I know the "freeze" time for certain ingredients. Okay, that's all I guess. For now anyway. I'm looking forward to checking out all the recipes and maybe sharing a few of my own.
