directions

  • Cream butter and sugars.
  • Mix in peanut butter, eggs and vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl combine flour, oats, baking soda and salt.
  • Combine two mixtures together.
  • Press evenly into a 15x10x2 cookie sheet (jelly roll pan).
  • Bake at 350°F for 15-18 minutes (till golden brown).
  • Mix the frosting ingredients together.
  • Spread the frosting over the warm bars.
  • Occasionally the frosting will be a little hard to spread. When this happens, I add either milk, or I microwave the frosting for 10-20 seconds and it is a lot easier to work with.

  1. Wow! I've tried out a couple of peanut butter bar recipes and this one is the best, by far. They're chewy but not too peanutty and the chocolate frosting is just perfect.

  2. Thanks for a great recipe! I love that they are made with stuff I usually have on hand. The bars are soft and not too sweet. I was afraid there would be enough of the frosting when I started spreading it, but a thin layer is plenty, as it is pretty sweet. Even my non-chocolate liking DD enjoyed these.
