ingredients
- 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine
- 1⁄4 cup cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 1⁄2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour (all purpose, unsifted)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

ICING
- 1 1⁄2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 1 1⁄2 tablespoons peanut oil
- 1⁄2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
- 1⁄4 cup cocoa
- 6 tablespoons buttermilk
- 1 (16 ounce) box confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
directions
- In saucepan, combine butter, cocoa, water, buttermilk, and eggs.
- Stir constantly over low heat until mixture boils.
- In large bowl, mix sugar, flour, and baking soda.
- Stir hot mixture into dry ingredients.
- Beat until smooth, then add vanilla.
- Spread into greased 13 X 9 inch pan.
- Bake at 350 degree for 25-30 minutes.
- Cool in pan.
- ICING: In saucepan, heat butter, cocoa, and buttermilk until bubbly.
- Add hot mixture to sugar and beat until smooth.
- Add vanilla and spread over cake.
