Pepper Parmesan Salad Dressing

"I have been making this dressing for almost 10 years now. It is incredible and very easily tailored to everyone's liking. You can add more of certain ingredients and omit the ones you don't want or don't have available. My measurements are somewhat approximate as I have gotten used to just shaking the spice bottles over the mixing bowl and adding more of certain ingredients to get it to my taste. So by all means, use the mayo/milk as a base for your special dressing and run with it!"

Questions & Replies

  1. I have kept it in the fridge for a couple weeks but honestly it never seems to last that long around my family ;)

  2. How long will this last in the frig?

  1. I have gotten this dressing from a restaurant I like. Now I can make it myself. YAY!

  2. Made this for the Aussie/NZ Recipe Swap #85--Feb. 2014 and this is another winner for us. I cut the recipe in half but otherwise followed the instructions....love the dill! I served this, of course, over salad greens, tomato and onions and also with your recipe#230034#230034 and mashed potatoes. Wonderful dinner and one I will repeat again. Thank you for posting.

  3. We LOVED this dressing! Loved the texture and all the amazing flavors. I didn't have any white wine so I double the vinegar and used a little more minced onion than called for instead of onion powder. I'll be making this dressing regularly. Thanks for posting the recipe.

  4. My husband loved this, which I expected because he loves pepper. What I didn't expect is that I would love it too. Thank you for a keeper!

  5. Delicious! Sorry to the cheese snobs, but all I had in the house was the stuff in the green can, so that's what I used. ;-) I did add about a quarter teaspoon of Splenda to give it a bit of that hint of sweet that store bought dressings have so the fam would eat it. Tasting it as I went in the bowl it seemed too "dilly," but once it's over lettuce it goes perfectly. Thanks for a great recipe!

Tweaks

  1. Wonderful dressing. Instead of garlic salt, I used garlic powder. It was very yummy. Great taste with the parmesan cheese. Thanks Mom2Rose :) Made for I Recommend tag game

  2. This is delicious!!! I reduced the recipe way down to 1/4 cup for just two of us. I'm usually not a huge fan of creamy dressings but this was so rich and creamy with just the right amount of peppery bite! I didn't have hot sauce so I used a tiny bit of cayenne powder instead. I really have to hold myself back from eating it plain! Thanks for sharing!

  3. The pepper was too strong for DH, house guest, & myself, next time I would reduce it by half. I did not have garlic garlic salt so I subbed 1/2 teaspoon of mince garlic and 1/2 teaspoon of regular salt for garlic salt. Thanks for sharing. Congrats Mom2Rose for TOP (Tagged Out Player) win for Top Favorites of 2008 Game!
