  1. Recipe says put chops in pre-heated 350 oven. How long in the oven?

  2. Thin, thick port chops? Bone in?

Reviews

  1. Delicious. DH and I both rated this a thumbs up, 5 star, A+, etc. Used coarse ground black pepper and a little garlic powder and it couldn't have been better.

  2. Excellent taste, especially the onion sauce. I will definitely make this receipe again.

  3. This dish was excellent. The sauce turned out wonderful and was an excellent choice for the pork chops !

  4. Used more onions, extra liquid, added garlic and an apple. Yum.

  5. My thinking is that the chops are being kept warm while you are making the sauce no need for further cooking.

Tweaks

  1. Yummy! I used some gourmet grill seasoning instead of salt and pepper and I seasoned the flour with it too. I didn't have any beer so I used all beef broth instead. It was easy and delicious and the gravy was wonderful over mashed potatoes too. Thanks for posting!

  2. I used this as a base recipe -- I used red wine instead of beer, and chicken broth instead of beef broth. I didn't need the cornstarch to thicken the sauce, the flour worked fine. I was able to use 5 chops as well. I think part of the reason I did not need the cornstarch is I used slightly less liquid than the recipe called for. Very good, very easy and will prepare again.

  3. This is delicious! And easy! I don't even like pork chops that much! I've made word for word to the recipe, but tonight I experimented because I had no beer. Modifications: I used one onion, and one green pepper. Instead of beer I used the tomato sauce from a can of diced tomatoes - then I added the tomatoes. The rest stayed the same. I was very proud of myself, it was amazing!

  4. I followed the recipe to a T except I substituted chicken broth for the beef broth. When hot the chops were tender and the sauce was good.

  5. This was quite good. While it was cooking, I tasted the liquid and I thought it was a little bland. So, I quickly read some of the reviews and saw that a few of the other reviewers added Garlic Powder to theirs, so I did the same and it really perked up the flavor. I think it may have been bland at first, because I used a thick boneless pork steak instead of a pork chop. I think bones add to the flavor of meat juices and liquids in the recipe. Even though I used only 1 pork steak, I didn't cut down on the beer or the broth. That may have been part of the problem as well. But, I love gravy and like to have plenty of it. I poured some of the sauce/gravy over my Recipe #240456 which was really good. The meat was really good with the gravy over it too. I will make this again, except I think next time I will use a couple of pork chops instead of a pork steak and see if that makes a difference. Thanks Tebo for a great recipe.
