Pumpkin Donut Drops

"This recipe comes from a Dude Ranch in Northern Michigan. The chef served these with hot chocolate after a hay ride. Cook time is for the whole recipe."

  1. Inez, just finished making a double batch of these for the grandkiddies for Halloween. Have a new cast iron Dutch oven that needed seasoning and this was a yummy way to accomplish that. The recipe was easy to make though I did have to add a smidge more milk to soften the dough to the right consistency. Judging from the smiles I got this is a recipe we will be making many times! Thanks so much for posting it.

  2. These were a real hit in my house. Word of warning though: don't try and make them bigger than the recipe suggests because the middle won't cook before they're too brown. Absolutely delicious.

  3. 5 stars times 5=25 stars!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!! These didn't last long enough to cool completely. I made them exactly as directed, I can not imagine improving on this at all. Very Very Good!!!!!!!!!

  4. These were really good. My whole family liked them. I even baked a few so I wouldn't have to use all the fat in the oil and those were good too!!!! What a great treat for the kids!!!!

  5. Inez these are awesome! Great for fall mornings! Thanks for sharing!

  1. Oh my goodness! This is one of the best recipes ever! But, I didn't fry it. I used 1 tablespoon of water instead of the oil, and baked them in the oven at 375 degrees for about 4 minutes on each side. They taste fine without the extra sugar on top, but I added it anyway. Thanks for sharing!

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
