Quick and Easy Pizza Dough

"A very quick way to make your own home-made pizza. This dough rises up nice and has a very light flavour. It can also be made in your bread machine on the 'dough' cycle."

  1. This pizza dough was amazing. Made it twice, because the first one left cravings for seconds....The second time I added 1 tsp. each of onion powder, garlic powder, thyme and majoram powder and the crust turned out fantastics...my grandkids couldn't get enough, even the parents wanted more. Wonderful recipe....Thank you, no more order out pizza for us.

  2. This made excellent breadsticks! (cut into strtips and rolled with garlic salt and parm, brushed with butter and baked) Thank you for the recipe, I will use it again and again since the rising time for the dough is so quick!

  3. Really good, especially for the short rise time. The kids had so much fun decorating their own pies.

  4. This is a great recipe! So easy! I never made pizza dough before, only made bread using bread machine but didn't care for the result. I followed the advice from other users, adding garlic and onion powder in the flour mix. Also I put 2 cups of flour (mix) all at once in my Kitchenaid mixer, then add the 2/3 cups of warm water slowly while the machine kneads the dough for about 5 minutes. Then I put it in a ziploc bag for it to rise. Taste wonderful and really easy to make. Today's the second time I made it. Thank you so much for this great recipe!

  5. FINALLY! A truly QUICK and EASY pizza dough recipe!! An added bonus: it turned out better than any of the recipes I've tried that take 2 hours or more to make! I used half whole wheat flour and it turned out amazing!!! Thanks trishypie! I'll never use another pizza dough recipe!!

Tweaks

  1. I've tried other doughs before and they're all too complicated to make with small children. This one was a snap! We put the ingredients together, went outside and played, then it was ready to go. Made 2 pizzas with this recipe. Kids LOVED it and so did the parents! I used dark brown molasses sugar instead of white sugar and I think it gave it a nice texture and flavor. Swapped out plain salt for crunchy sea salt. Also, I pre-baked the crust for about 5-7 min (depending on the thickness) and that worked great. I will definitely use this one again.

  2. I added a 1/2 table spoon of Italian seasoning and 1/2 table spoon of parsley flakes....we shall see how it turns out... before I pop the crust in the oven I'm going to add melted butter with garlic salt brushed all over just for more flavour

  3. We used the recipe as is. It was just the cooking method we changed. We didn't use a pizza pan, but cast iron skillets. Put 2 tbsp peanut oil in cast iron skillet, press raw dough in, put toppings on, and bake for 10 mins as hot as the oven will go. Comes out amazing every time. It's even cooked in the middle!

  4. I let the dough rise for almost an hour, distracted making cocktails. Punched dough down, devided in half and rolled out two crusts.

  5. I pre baked the dough on 475° for 10 minutes before adding the toppings.
