REREK'S SIMPLY AWESOME 2 INGREDIENT BBQ/GRILLED CHICKEN

"This no-fail recipe is loved by ALL who have tasted it. There are only 2 ingredients; Chicken (thigh and/or drumstick), and your favorite "store-bought" sauce. The whole "secret" is that in the last 2 minutes of cooking, you'll be using the grill/bbq to "Caramelize" the BBQ sauce on the Chicken. I use Sweet Baby Rays sauce - but you can use ANY one you like."

directions

  • Clean the grill - Preheat for the grill for 5 minutes, then take a folded up wet paper towel, and a pair of tongs, and using the towel in the tongs, wipe off the grill. Don't burn yourself.
  • NOTE! For the next 2 steps. It is extremely likely that this method of cooking will cause "flare ups". Stay nearby to move chicken around off of the flame, and re-close the top.
  • Put chicken on grill at medium heat for 15 minutes - LID CLOSED. Watch for flare ups! The bottom side should be "cooked" with slight browning. If not, keep it on a little longer.
  • Turn chicken over and grill another 15 minutes - LID CLOSED. Watch for flare ups! The bottom side should be "cooked" with slight browning. If not, keep it on a little longer.
  • At this point, the chicken should be cooked. Keep the chicken on a little longer if you feel it's not done.
  • Move 4-5 pieces of chicken from the grill into a large mixing bowl, or the like.
  • Squirt BBQ sauce all over the chicken, then "toss" the chicken around inside the bowl, in the sauce, until the pieces are adequately covered.
  • put the coated chicken pieces back onto the grill.
  • repeat for all the chicken pieces.
  • Put the grill on HIGH.
  • Leave the chicken pieces on for 1-2 minutes per side. You will notice the sauce slightly harden, and slightly caramelize. This is how you want it to be on both sides. THIS IS THE FLAVOR SECRET!
  • Remove all the pieces from the grill and enjoy.
