Sam's Hamburgers (Oamc)

"I have had these burgers dissapear right before my very eyes. Warning, they are hot, but youcan cut out the chilis and add something else. I mark this as a kid pleaser because my kids love them, but they may be too spicy for others. I never measure, so they turn out differently every time, but this is a rough estimate of them. Freeze them individually for 1 hour, then pack them into freezer bags for up to 2 mths. Thaw and BBQ them or fry on the stove top."

  1. Did do a little juggling on the spices here, in that, although I didn't cut back on the recipe as a whole, I did use just 1 teaspoon of oregano & a little less than 2 teaspoons of the dried chilies along with 5 lbs of hamburger! Made sure I had 20 patties & then froze 15 of them for later use! I was fascinated by the flavor that the cinnamon & nutmeg gave these ~ Definitely a winner & a great recipe keeper! Thanks for sharing it! [Made & reviewed in Please Review My Recipe]

  2. This was the first time I really tried anything different with our burgers and it was a hit. I didn't put in the chilies in kindness to my hubby and son but we loved the south west flavor. The cinnamon and nutmeg were a bit wierd to me but it totally worked. Thanks Sam. Made for Please Review My Recipe Tag Game.

  3. I also cut this recipe back a bit and used taco seasoning,as I couldn't find Tex-Mex. These burgers were packed with flavour and beautifully spicy...DH (the burger critic round here) thought they were great, and I agree. Thanks Sam,for a great tasting and simple burger recipe!

  4. These burgers try to bite back but they are scrumptious while in the attempt. I used a southwest mix that already had oregano in it, it was Recipe #220746. I made 6, 4oz burgers that I'm going to enjoy through the summer. If your a Tex-Mex or a spicy fan these are for you!

  5. I made this (reduced to 4 servings) using taco seasoning for the Tex-Mex and red pepper flakes for the crushed dried chilies. Loaded with flavor. Woo-hoo!
