Self crusting quiche

"This is my favourite quiche recipe mainly because it is very vesatile. I have made a number of variations using the basic egg mixture each time but with different filling. eg. subtituting canned asparagus,and,1/4 pint asparagus brine and 1/4 pint milk instead of 1/2 pint milk. The basic recipe I was given atleast 10 years ago - but I've improved on it over the years."

  1. Karin, this was a big hit today at my luncheon. There was not a piece left. Bummer is I only got one small, small piece. So I will make this again soon for me to have all to myself :) I didn't add the blue cheese only because I forgot that I didn't have any. But next time I will. Loved it!

  2. Doughy tasting. I've a much better recipe than this but thought I might try something different. Will NOT make again.

  3. I also used half the flour and substituted a few ingredients and it has turned out pretty good. Did not rise a lot, but still tastes good.

  4. WOW, I just made a SODERY Bacon and Egg cake . It was literally a CAKE. I have made alot of self crusting quiches that have turned out wonderful. I don't know where you got this recipe from but You should take it off here. Don't cook this

  5. This is nice, but the crust was too thick in my opinion .. next time I will use half a cup of flour, or less .. thanks, this was quick and easy!

I live in New Zealand, I'm married and my husband and I have no children....but we do have a dog (Bruno the Poodle), and a cat (Gus the Birman)! Back in November 2000, I resigned from a 17yr career with Air New Zealand as a Purser. I am now working as a Private Investigator with my husband - having his own Investigation Company. The work is varied and at times very rewarding as I'm sure you can imagine! I have an absolute passion for shoes...what woman doesn't??!!!, and fashion generally, including that of Home Interiors and furnishings, and gardens. I enjoy, among many past-times, art, gardening, water ski-ing, power walking, and ofcourse...COOKING!!(and entertaining). I guess my pet peeve would be running late for an appointment somewhere! 10 minutes early = 10 minutes late with me!! So, ON time is VERY late!!! If I had a month off - no work, and no responsibilities I would buy 2 return airfares to Honolulu!! And spend 2 weeks on Waikiki Beach with my husband and 2 weeks at home in the kitchen!! And entertaining friends and family.
