Sesame Roasted Green Beans

"These are a delicious and different way to prepare green beans. I made these for a dinner party, doubled the recipe and there was not a bean left."

  1. This is an excellent recipe! I happened to be out of sesame seeds when I made this (I thought they were in the cabinet) but they still came out delicious! I also made this while my air conditioner was broken so in order to keep my house from getting too hot I stir-fried the beans and sauce in a large pot. I cooked them until they were shriveled with dark spots. They were perfect!

  2. Yum! I used toasted sesame oil and it gave the beans such a great flavor. Can't wait to make these again.

  3. I really loved this dish. I normally sauté my green beans but this is so much easier and makes for easy clean up as well. It's the best side dish to many recipes!

  4. I added extra garlic, as I do with every recipe, we are a family of garlic lovers. I will save this to make when it's just my husband and I for dinner, as it wasn't liked by our younger family members. I also might decrease the red pepper flakes just a tad bit. To turn down the heat just a touch.

  5. Very tasty and easy to put together. Next time I think I'll make with more sauce/spice and fewer green beans.

Tweaks

  1. These were just... AWESOME. Subbed agave nectar for honey as I am allergic. PERFECT as a side accompaniment for tilapia fillets. Started from home-grown frozen. After removing the beans from the oven after the first specified 10 minutes, I added them to the fish pan to broil for another 5 minutes to save space. Forgot the sesame seeds, but they came out wonderfully nonetheless! Will be making this again. Thanks.

  2. These were the best green beans I've ever had. I made them last night and I'm still daydreaming about them now! I was a bit concerned with how they would taste after seeing how dark they got, but they were just delicious! The combination of the honey and ginger was wonderful. They turned out nice and spicy but with the perfect hint of sweetness from the honey and the beans themselves. I used lots garlic powder instead of garlic cloves. This is a new favourite for me!
