Shawna's Canned Apple Pie Filling

"My go to recipe for canning apples for later use. The kids tell me it tastes like McDonald's apple pie but i wouldn't go so far as to call it a copycat. I love that it uses cornstarch for gelling rather than actual gelatin as this reduces the cost of processing large amounts of fruit. Note: I qt of filling equals 1 9 in pie"

  • Mix all ingredients except lemon juice in a large stock pot and simmer on medium heat until thick. Stir often!
  • Remove from heat and add lemon juice.
  • Place into canning jars and process in canner for 20 minutes.
