Slow Cooker Chicken Sesame

"This is so delicious! You may want to thicken up the sauce with cornstarch after it's done, but we just like to soak it all up with rice. Mmmm! This comes from The Busy Mom's Slow cooker Cookbook."

  1. This was easy and good. I did change it a little just because I used what I had on hand. In place of the tomato juice I used Spicy Bloody Mary Mix. Since the mix already had sugar and worchestershire, I cut back on the brown sugar, not sure how much, but I will probably only use 1/3 cup to start and then taste. I only used the 1/4 cup of Soy. I will add some pepper flakes for a little heat next time too. I cooked it for 6 hours on low and the chicken turned out nice and tender. I did not thicken the sauce.I made rice cooked in chicken stock, served the rice with chicken on top and sauce poured over all. I served it with acorn squash seasoned with just butter, S&P. I don't know that the sesame seeds (I toasted) did much for the dish. If you don't have them I wouldn't worry about it. Or just sprinkle them over the individual servings.

  2. Easy and good. I make ahead and we eat it during the week. I lessened the sugar to 1/2 cup and it was fine. Also, I did 1 1/2 x recipe for a large slow cooker and all was well.

  3. This was very easy to make and was really tasty. We ate it with egg noodles. We used extra garlic and added a bit of fresh ginger to give it a little different flavor. Our chicken was a little dry so next time we plan to use chicken thighs, cook it a little less time, or use larger bone in chicken breasts

  4. We really enjoyed this, I used tomato puree in place of tomato juice and I also put in 1/2 tspn of sesame oil, and halved the sesame seeds. I don't like alot of garlic so I put in 1 tbspn instead. I served it with rice and some steamed veg, I didn't feel it needed thicking. I will make this again :)

  5. This was okay and the sauce was delicious over rice. Made as directed except I used vegetable broth in place of the chicken broth (out of). Thanks for sharing!
