  • In a 1 1/2 quart slow cooker, combine the first seven ingredients.  Cover and cook on low for 5 hours.
  • Combine the flour and water until smooth, stir into the soup.  Cover and cook on high for 30 minutes or until thickened.
  • Stir in cream cheese and cheddar cheese until blended.
  • Stir in beer or additional broth.
  • Cover and cook on low for 10 minutes or until heated through.
  • Top with croutons, bacon, and green onions if desired.
