directions

 • Place the dried apples in a small bowl and pour the boiling water over them. Stir in the honey and set aside to steep.
 • Melt the butter in a 3-qt. nonstick saucepan, add the bulghur and stir to coat the wheat with the butter. Toast, stirring constantly, for 3-4 minutes.
 • In a small saucepan, bring the apple juice to a boil, then add it and the spices to the bulghur carefully, as it will sputter up. Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Add salt.Spoon out into individual bowls and top each bowl with some of the honeyed apple slices.
 • Serve hot with a pitcher of milk to pour over, if desired.

This site has gotten so horribly bad over the past couple of years, I have stopped using it to manage my recipes and have gone over to using another one, which I have been forbidden to mention on Food.com. It's no secret that there are competitors; send me a message if you are in the same boat and would like to know. For now, I only frequent a few of the forums and that's it. The Titanic has sailed!
