directions

  • Chop the onion, and the garlic if you are using fresh garlic and not the jarred minced version.
  • In a bowl mix the water, onion, garlic, jam, salsa and salt together until well mixed.
  • It's okay to taste it a little bit so that you can see if you need to add more of something, but don't over-do it!
  • Next take out the pork.
  • Leave the chops whole, but with a knife cut random areas so that the mix's juices that you made will go through the pork.
  • In any cooking pot with a lid (that will allow you to put two pork chops into it)- throw the sauce into the pot.
  • Place the pork chops also into the pot.
  • With a spoon dig up some of the sauce in the pan and put some of it on the top of the pork chops.
  • Turn your stove on with a medium to high heat, until the sauce starts to heat up.
  • Then lower the heat enough (medium heat), and now cover, and allow to cook well, flipping it over every 8-10 minutes.
  • Remember to keep putting the sauce on the sides of the pan on top of the pork every time you flip them over.
  • Don't let the sauce burn into the bottom of the pot.
  • When done, the sauce should not be too watery.
  • Top with the sauce that you made to cook the pork with into a plate.
  • Serve with rice!
  • My husband loves this quick to make and cook dish!
  • Note: If you want to add more pork for more people just increase the salsa and jam.
  • And add the rest of the ingredients to your taste.

  1. This was very good. My husband really enjoyed it! I served this with wild rice and boiled red potatos. The extra sauce was delicious on both! I think this would be good made with chicken also...will be trying that next! Thanks!

  2. This was good. I sliced the meat on both sides and increased the garlic and salsa. The meat wasn't totally permeated. We thought it was good. Thanks so much for posting.

  3. These were wonderful! I browned them first, used 10 chops from the value pack I'd bought. Then finished them off in the sauce, which I doubled. Served these with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Really tasty, and my toddler liked them too!

  4. This was so yummy! I decided to use the crockpot as someone suggested and browned the pork in a pan for 3 min on each side before adding them to the mixture in the crockpot. I also substituted mango jam for the apricot since we don't really care for it and used mild salsa since DH doesn't care for hot. I served with rice, refried beans and tortilla chips. Will definately make this again! Thanks for sharing Usako!

  5. My DH loved this! I made it tonight as I had a jar of homemade salsa in the fridge to finish. I used a two pork steaks, had no chops. Also used my cherry jelly, no apricot. The blending of the flavors was fantastic. I had a lot of sauce left over so I reduced the sauce and put it in the freezer. I'm thinking, hmmmm, chicken? Should be great. Now, bear with me here, DH is on a low salt diet so I totally forgot to add the 1 tsp. of salt. I kept thinking I should get up and get the salt shaker from the counter but I didn't miss the salt enough to make the effort! This is a keeper. Thanks Usako.

  2. This was awesome! I browned pork chops first and sauteed onions. I substituted peach preserves for apricot jam. Otherwise, I followed the directions exactly. This was amazing over egg noodles. I will definitately make these again. (I used American Cut Chops and let them simmer for 1 hour. They came out perfectly tender.)

  3. This is delicious and easy. I made a few minor changes for personal preference. I used orange marmalade instead of apricot, mild instead of hot salsa, and I didn't use any of the salt. I served them with rice and they were fantastic. This is definitely a keeper. Thanks for the recipe.

  4. Man, I love the easiness in preparing this dish! I substituted Spaghetti Sauce for the Salsa and 2 tbs Strawberry Jam for Apricot Jam as I didn't have any and served it on noodles. Yummy!
