  1. Drain and rinse the beans.
  2. In a crock pot, combine the beans, jalapeños, broth, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, cayenne, pepper, and hot sauce.
  3. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Add cornstarch and cook for another 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Adjust the seasonings as needed.
  4. Serve with the cilantro and nondairy sour cream if desired.
