Spinach Banana Smoothie

"I recently lost 40 pounds at Weight Watchers! While there, two women were bragging about a smoothie that they had made, tried, and love. Even the meeting leader was hesitant- because the recipe sound horrible! But I tried it, and fell in love. I hope you have the courage to try this out- please let me know what you think!"

  1. Delicious and healthy! The whole family loved it. It turned out quite green but I told my little boys that we were drinking Incredible Hulk Smoothies and they thought they were great!

  2. Delicious! I did 2 cups spinach, 1/2 a banana, and 8 ounces vanilla almond milk. I will make this over and over. Thanks for posting!!

  3. This is awesome, try it!!!! Thank you so much I would never have thought of putting spinach into a smoothie. It also works well with a little pineapple thrown in and a little stevia to sweeten. I love that I can use this as a base for my normal protein smoothie. Anything can be added to this, thank you so much for sharing =)

  4. I am not the biggest spinach fan but I need my dark leafy greens and this smoothie masks the taste of the spinach PERFECTLY. I used a danon lite n fit yogurt, toasted coconut vanilla flavor, and used unsweetened almond milk in place of water. This came out like a green pina colada! I halved the spinach and banana (my bananas were BIG) but used the whole 6oz of yogurt and a half a yogurt container of almond milk. Great recipe!

  5. This smoothie was terrific I used frozen bananas and added a small amount of coconut milk. A great way to start the day??

Tweaks

  1. Instead of Vanilla Yogurt I use Plain Greek yogurt and Coconut Milk. I freeze my bananas and just a tad bit of agave nectar, for sweetness.

  2. What a great way to get your vegetables without tasting them. The first day I made this exactly as written. It was really bright green. The second day I substituted fresh strawberries instead of bananas. The color was kind of ugly, but it tasted great. I also like it better with a cup of crushed ice added in.

  4. I made this for a pre-workout breakfast. I used nonfat plain yogurt instead of vanilla yogurt and so I added about a tsp of honey and a handful of mixed frozen berries that I partially thawed. I can not taste the spinach at all, just the creamy banana and berry flavor. Though the color isn't really appetizing, it doesn't bother me. Thank you for the wonderful smoothie recipe!

  5. This was suprisingly good. I am not a big smoothie lover. When I saw this recipe, I thought I would give it a try. I am trying to find ways to include more fruit and veggies to my daily diet. I did use skim milk instead of water and added a little drop of honey.
