St. Louis' Amighetti Sandwich (Copycat)

Sandwich Spread
- 1⁄2 cup mayonnaise
- 1⁄4 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon horseradish
- 2 teaspoons fresh dill

Sandwich
- 1 loaf French bread or 1 loaf panini bread
- 6 slices cooked ham
- 6 slices roast beef
- 6 slices genoa salami
- 6 dill pickle slices
- 6 slices tomatoes
- 6 slices swiss cheese
- 3 pickled peppers (Pepperoncini)
directions
- Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard, green onion, horseradish and dill. Slice baquette in half horizontally. Spread the cut surfaces with mixture.
- On bottom half of baguette, arrange in order: ham, roast beef, salami, dill pickle slices, tomato slices, Swiss cheese and pepperoncini.
- Place top half of baguette on filling. Cut sandwiches into pieces.

Sorry I haven't reviewed this sooner! I've made this recipe a number of times to great success. I usually have a little of the 'Amighetti Spread' leftover for later too, and it's even wonderful with a Loaded Salad Sandwich! I found this recipe because I lived in St. Louis for a number of years and miss that city greatly. This is a wonderful sandwich, don't need to change a thing!

Fabulous sandwich! I intended to get regular french bread for it, but decided at the last minute to get an artisan bread (garlic, gruyere, and olive) at our local grocery store. The flavors were phenomenal. My family doesn't normally rave about a sandwich, but they did about this one. This sandwich tastes very "gourmet" and is far above average. Perfect for a romantic picnic lunch!
