  1. Fantastic as printed! I did't add nutmeg, only because I forgot. I used 1% milk so myabe that is why the thickness was perfect.

  2. I didn't add the nutmeg either and even though I only used about 1/2 a Tbsp of the flour, it was too thick. I did love the flavor though! Thanks for posting! Ps. I didn't have sour cream so i used 1/2 a block (4oz) of cream cheese.

  3. I loved this ! My little variation was to sprinkle generously with chopped parsley when on the plate.

  4. Fantastic Recipe!! Thanks!

  5. This was very good. I made it gluten and dairy free, and since I kind of wing it when I do this, I can't even tell you the measurments of what I did! I did follow the suggestion of 1/8 tsp of nutmeg. I was confused about what to do with the oil AND the margarine since it does not explain when to use these. I sauted the onion and mushrooms in the oil, and then when I added this to the meat mixture, I used the butter to kind of make a ruex with the flour sooo....I will definitely save this one.

Tweaks

  1. Very tasty and easy recipe, the family loved it. I especially liked the worcestershire sauce and nutmeg. I did not have mushrooms and olive oil. So I substituted for more butter and left out the mushrooms. I used cornstarch instead of flour because cornstarch thickens nicely with less bulk. The flour can change the taste if too much is used. I had to double the recipe for my large family. The recipe did not note when to add the salt, pepper, and nutmeg. We served it on noodles, but my kids like it on mashed potatoes instead. So we had both. This will become a family regular!
