Stuffed Cheeseburger Buns

"These were always on a table at many of our family gatherings. It is the American version of the Calzone. A soft yeast roll stuffed with a delicious mixture of ground beef and cheese. I found this recipe in Taste of Home and it brought back good memories of a stuffed meat pie. Prep time does not include dough rising."

  1. These are awesome! A friend made them for us for a lunch today and when I compared the recipe its the exact same ingredients. My kids and I all really enjoyed them. My plan for when I make them is to add some canned diced chiles and make them with pepper jack cheese - kinda a chile relleno flavor inside a bun. I'll have to post the results.

  2. I thoroughly enjoy these, for something different! I just used 1 lb of ground beef and it works fine. I have made them a few times now and they are just a fun twist on cheeseburgers. Thanks for posting.

I?m ?originally from Texas, but now live in Florida. Still gotta have that spice though....love chipotle peppers, habaneros, and jalapenos. This is a picture of myself & my 2 daughters taken in Dec'06. I am working on my graduate degree, & still work as a nurse prn. When I'm not cooking and eating what I cook... I head for the gym to work out. As far as cookbooks, I love the church/ community cookbooks, where someone has dug out old handwritten recipes by granny and shared them with others-those are the best kind. If I had a month off, I'd for sure go hiking, would love to visit Australia and New Zealand.?
