  • Bake potatoes until soft.
  • Mix all ingredients until smooth.
  • Bake at 350 F for about 40-45 minutes.
  • -------TOPPING----------.
  • mix all dry ingredients.
  • Sprinkle over.
  • Divide butter over pan.

  3. Made for Thanksgiving, & everyone enjoyed them. I think I was expecting a little more considering the addition of the sugar, vanilla, etc. They were good, but not much more flavorful than plain mashed yams. Also, the topping didn't crisp up like I thought it would. Still, a nice simple recipe & well-received.

Tweaks

  1. I have been making this for the past several year but haven't gotten around to reviewing it. Changes that I make are: instead of sugar, use 1/2 c brown sugar and 1/2 c maple syrup and either omit the milk altogether or just put in a bit. I also put some topping in the middle (fill 1/2 way, add a bit of topping). This is THE BEST sweet potato recipe ever.
