  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, corn flakes, sugars, raisins and coconut.
  • Add eggs, vanilla and melted butter.
  • Mix till well blended.
  • Mix in chocolate chips.
  • In a separate bowl, mix flour salt, baking powder and baking soda.
  • Add flour mixture and stir until it is all incorporated into the dough.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until nicely browned.
  • Cool on a wire rack.

I, too, got this off internet 3 years ago and it is my alltime favorite to take to neighbors, ailing church members, etc. (You should 1st check for food allergies, likes/dislikes first, cauz these cookies have about EVERYTHING in them!) Everyone goes GAGA over them! I had always made them using rounded teaspoons (I misread the recipe for 2 years), which essentially doubles the recipe but makes the cooking time critical. I bake (the smaller cookies) for 10-11 minutes and they turn out chewy. Leave them in about 1 min longer and they are crispy. Any longer than that, they are TOO crispy -- not good at all.
     
  2. Someone finally posted this recipe. I've been making these for a while. We also use Rice Krispies, reeses pieces and coconut. Sometimes I throw in macadameia nuts (when I can afford them)and white choco chps
     
  3. This has been a favorite in my household for 20 years. We prefer ricekrispies for cereal and I add 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar Ozarkannie

  5. Was I in the right place at the right time, or what? For a couple of months now I've been pining for a new cookie recipe that would satisfy some vague yearning. Well, I found it here, and from Ms. Dorn, to boot! These cookies are wonderful!! At first, I thought they might be too "busy" for my taste, but absolutely not. As I usually do, I subbed 1/2C of applesauce for 1/2 the butter...and they turned out beautifully. One thing about reducing the fat in cookies, it helps keep them from spreading and they had a nice "thickness". I took them out at 12 minutes and they came out nice and chewy. The coconut, raisins and choc. chips are a wonderful combination. "Cookieathon"...here we come!!!!! Thanks, as always, Ms. D. from one of your biggest fans (oh, and my DH is waving as well! :)

  1. WOW!!! My husbands exact words were "This is the only cookie that I ever want to eat". He ate them so fast that I had to make a second batch-and he helped. smiles. Instead of corn flakes we used rice krispies. Yum!! Great Cookie. Thanks!!
