"This was my mom's favorite drink when I was younger. I remember my uncle making these for her and I always asked her for the maraschino cherry. Found the recipe on a popular mix drink website."

  • Fill a shaker half way with ice cubes.
  • Add gin, lemon juice and sugar, shake well.
  • Strain mix into a collins glass that is almost filled to the top with ice cubes and add the club soda. Stir well and garnish with the cherry and orange slice.

  1. I made this as a frozen Tom Collins for Buddha and I. We had to add quite a bit more sugar and a bit more lemon juice, but it's great that I could re-live one of my favorite drinks of long ago and didn't need any sweet-n-sour mix. Thanks for sharing. :)
     
  2. This is nice and refreshing, though it doesn't have the distinct sweet sour you expect from a Tom Collins. I added a wedge of lime which helped get closer to the right flavor.
