  1. On large cookie sheet, arrange bread in a single layer.
  2. Bake slices in 400 oven until lightly browned.
  3. Cut bread into 1" cubes.
  4. Saute pepper, onion, garlic, sugar, salt, oregano and pepper til tender.
  5. Place bread cubes and sauteed veg in a greased baking dish.
  6. Beat eggs and pour over bread mixture.
  7. Arrange rows of tomatoes and cheese slices over bread mixture.
  8. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes until hot, and cheese is melted.
