  • Saute onions in oil til glossy.
  • Add beans and mix.
  • Add salt and water, cook for about 15 minutes or until beans are just tender. Drain.
  • In the meantime, mix vinegar and sugar in another pot and stir till sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Mix dry ingredients, softened with a little water, add to sugar/vinegar mixture. Stir thoroughly and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add cooked beans, simmer for further 10 minutes.
  • Serve either hot or cold or bottle and keep in the fridge - they keep well and improve with age.
