  • Place one can of cannellini beans in the soup pot with the canned liquid and mash is potato masher or stick blender.
  • Add the remaining beans, drained, to the pot.
  • Add all the vegetables, barley, garlic, broth, water, bay leaf, rosemary, sausage, salt and pepper.
  • Heat to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer. Simmer for 1 hour.
  • Serve with crusty bread.
