  1. The first time I made this, it had a lot of heat. However, the second time I made it, it was not so bad. I really love this stew. I used sweet potatoes the second time around and it turned out great.

  2. I have now made this twice and LOVE it! I put sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes, which made it sweet and spicy at the same time. The second time I also threw in some chicken thighs and let it simmer for an hour. It made it a complete meal with protein.

  3. This is delicious! The first time I made it, I didn't have any Niter Kibeh, but it still tasted wonderful with plain butter. The second time I made it, I used Niter Kibeh but reduced the quantity to 2 tbsp. Thanks for a great recipe!

  4. I love this recipe, but want to disclose that it is from the Sundays at Moosewood cookbook.

  5. I made the Berbere (#140767) and the Niter Kebbeh (#140755). Once those were in hand, this stew was very easy to put together. Instead of carrots (Had none) I used peas and corn with the string beans and diced tomatoes. Quite spicy but not overpoweringly so. I really enjoyed this. Thanks, Evangelia!
