Hot Layered Hero Sandwich

"This sandwich makes a great meal while watching games on television. Combine it with some soup and you have a complete supper. You may use recipe #214731 on Recipezaar as the sauce, which is yummy, or buy it in the store."

  1. This was fantastic and the honey mustard recipe really made it! It was very filling, but with a different taste than the usual oil and vinegar. The combination of the two cheeses was also very nice, and the order of layering really helped to bring out the flavors of the many ingredients. Thanks for posting this one!

  2. Excellent!!! This sandwich IS a hero at my house! We loved every bite and it's now headed to my favorites to be made again. I made them on large sub rolls, and it made 3, which was just what I needed. Thanks!

  3. This sandwich was spectacular! We made homemade whole wheat rolls using Recipe #133547 recipe. This is a prizewinning sandwich if I ever saw one! Thanks Mimi. Mike

  4. These are really delicious sandwiches! All of my crusty bread disappeared, but I really wanted to make these, so I used flatbread... and it was amazing. I used low fat mayo instead of mustard (personal preference) and spicy deli ham, which added a great little kick to it. Thanks for sharing!

  5. These are awesome sandwiches. Served them at a party and they were a big hit! They taste so "not homemade" that my husband (who knows I love to cook and make everything from scratch) asked me which deli I bought them from?! I made them just as posted (except I used turkey ham and longhorn cheese instead of monterey jack). The only change I may make the next time is to keep them in about 20 mins. and will consider brushing some melted butter over the top of the bread to keep the top crust from getting too dry and crunchy. Will definitely make these again. Thanks for an easy and yummy recipe.
