Tortilla Pinwheels

"I got this recipe on a card at the tortilla factory at California Adventure at Disneyland. I've made it with salami or ham, but ham seems to be the favorite with my family. (prep time does not include chilling time)."

  1. Made these last night for a potluck and they were very good! Used ranch salad dressing instead of mayo. Thanks!

  2. Yummy little appetizers! I used smoked turkey with lite cream cheese and lite mayo. I used the suggestion to top the mayo mixture with cheese to help them hold together better. So easy, so good and so impressive! Bless you, Cricket, and Merry Christmas in heaven.

  3. These had a great flavor. The only thing I would have done different is to sprinkle the cheese over the cream cheese mixture. They fell apart really easy because the shredded cheese has nothing to hold it together when placed on the slices of meat.

  4. I tried both the ham and the salami version for a get-together with friends. The ham were much more well received. It was the general consensus that the salami ones were missing something. We thought that some artichoke hearts, spicy pickled peppers, or something would have improved the salami version. Overall, it was a simple appy to throw together for snacking.

  5. I made these for our super bowl party and my guests loved them. I will be making them many times....thank you for posting...Stephanie

(As many of you know Silent Cricket passed away on Feb. 29. Since she loved Recipezaar so much and so many on Recipezaar have shown their love for her, and have enjoyed her recipes, her personal information will remain here indefinitely just as she wrote it. Her lines at the end of this section sound somewhat prophetic as the last chapter of her earthly existence has been written.) Well, the time has come for me to change my users' name. After being, "OzCoMartha" because of having lived for three years in Australia and then moving to Colorado, I have decided to "turn over a new leaf." I chose this name because many moons ago I used to be able to "chirp" like a cricket and the "silent" refers to the present time when I'm taking a break...But, perhaps after a season, however long I decide that needs to be, I may be back and then I will fill in more details about myself...
